Who is Israel-19

We are coming to the close of the identification of who is really Israel. This particular study covers more than just who is really Israel, but what being ‘in Christ’ really means. This is a very profound truth that is referenced many times throughout the New Testament, but seldom truly taught. On order to give this the importance it deserves, this will be a multi-week study. We will begin with Paul’s letter to the Romans.

Romans 6:8  Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, 6:9  knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, is never to die again; death no longer is master over Him. 6:10  For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. 6:11  Even so consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus. 

His sacrifice allows us to be ‘in Him’! This has both a very real physical reality, plus a profound spiritual reality. All of this leads to our eternal reality as well.

Romans 8:1  Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. 8:2  For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death.

We have been removed from the curse of eternal death and entered into the reality of being set free from our enslavement to sin and death.

8:9  However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him. 

8:10  If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness. 8:11  But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. 

Since Christ is indeed in us, we are to be in Christ. That is not only our sanctification but also our positional goal. It can be shown that we have a responsibility to be in Christ, but also it is only available to those if Christ is in us!

There a number of truths that will be revealed in this study and I pray that God will help me reveal them to you in truth.
